"FFTB is probably part of my destiny, as it's the family motto for Flaherty. I'd known this for a while, but it was only recently I discovered it is also the motto of the Dixon clan, my mother's maiden name. I don't think of myself as bold or brave, but I'm making some changes in my life, such as going back to UNI. Anyway, thanks for the site guys, I've bookmarked it and will keep an eye on it."

entrepreneur success
We seem to come in contact with many young entrepreneurs as we build our brand. They share our mindset. One of the things we've noticed is that the most important thing for an entrepreneur to have is commitment. Actually, it's even more important than the idea. Many good ideas fail and many bad ones make it. I'm sure you can think of examples of both. The main factor is usually a sheer "succeed at any cost" attitude. These people don't take no for an answer. They find clever ways around bumps in the road. It's lead us to believe that the secret sauce is this: it's usually more about the person behind the idea than the idea itself.
prophecy

"I love FFTB™ and now I get that it's a self-fulfilling prophecy. When you start thinking this way it changes the way you do things and see the world. Good things start happening and you aren't sure if it's thanks to you or Fortuna, but soon you realize that it doesn't really matter, and that it's probably it's both."
- Lucila, New York City
cate kanell

Cate is a long-time FFTB™ fan and we love her new album. The Internet has greatly increased exposure for independent artists. The motivated and talented ones develop strong followings very quickly, before even being signed. Cate will inevitably soon be signed, but it's cool how quickly her melodic music has spread before the labels have found her.
FFTB™ circle
"I first got a shirt because I like the style, but I've started to realize it's about more than that. I notice that on the days I wear FFTB™ I just feel more confident, and that leads to good things happening, which makes me more confident, and it repeats."

the art of good dressing

The best dressed people around the world turn clothing into an art form. They have an attention to detail, color, fit, and material which is inspirational. For your daily inspiration, try The Satorialist, an awesome blog written by a regular GQ contributor.
zappos
Zappos started off selling shoes, which isn't inherently innovative, but they do it better than anyone else. Their customer service is a model for any and all types of business. It's what separates them from the pack. It's interesting to think about how something so simple but often neglected can turn an idea which sounds like it would have been novel ten years ago (selling shoes and now clothes on the internet) into a cutting edge one. Check out this article on the company.
what drew you to FFTB™?
"I am a communicator – I like to make emotional connections with people. I recognize that we all impact each others’ lives in ways we sometimes don’t realize or expect, therefore I try to go about my life doing things that will impact those around me in the most positive manner. While (unfortunately) this tends to make other people perceive me as this “wonderful person” – my reason for doing what I do is because it makes me feel happy, good inside.
I recently lost my husband in a motorcycle accident this past December. The friend who gave me the quote is actually the first guy I found myself attracted to since my husband’s death (both frightening and confusing for me), and so I shared my feelings with him right away (he was already aware of my situation). He has made it clear he keeps business separate from personal (and I fall on the wrong side of that divide), but the experience did teach me that yes, someday I will find someone else and the world won’t implode… which was a huge step forward for me. I want to honor my husband’s memory and our life together by living the life we created, and being the same happy person that life allowed me to become."

got up the nerve
"A few days after buying one your shirts, I just started thinking really hard about how if I want something in life, it's up to me. I feel like I've been waiting for someone else to make it happen my whole life. But when I finally thought about it this way, it kinda freed me up and I felt like I had nothing to lose. So I asked this girl out who I've been friends with but liked for years. Best thing I ever did. I'm just going to keep thinking like this from now on. FFTB!"

what's up with this blog

Since we started Fortune Favours The Bold™, customers have been sharing stories with us of how they live the FFTB™ lifestyle. We’ve heard from a guy in New York who wears FFTB™ at national poker competitions, a woman in Hawaii who started her own cookie business soon after buying a shirt and deciding to be bold, and many more.
What does Fortune Favours The Bold™ mean to you? How are you BOLD? Send us an email at info@fftb.com and we’ll post your story on this blog. We’ll be posting some other cool stuff too.
welcome to fortune favours the bold™!
We are a clothing company based on a simple idea: You have control over your fate.
Luck comes and goes. Sometimes it’s there when you ask. Other times it leaves you high and dry. The ancient Romans thought of it as a goddess that they called Fortuna. They believed she looked down at them and decided who succeeded in life. But they didn’t think she randomly picked people. Fortuna preferred those who took chances.
The hustle. The grind. Different words for the same thing. Fortune doesn’t just mean money. It can be power, success, recognition, freedom – it depends on you, what you want, and what you do to make it happen.
Take a risk. Be Bold. Fortuna is watching.
