"I am a communicator – I like to make emotional connections with people. I recognize that we all impact each others’ lives in ways we sometimes don’t realize or expect, therefore I try to go about my life doing things that will impact those around me in the most positive manner. While (unfortunately) this tends to make other people perceive me as this “wonderful person” – my reason for doing what I do is because it makes me feel happy, good inside.
I recently lost my husband in a motorcycle accident this past December. The friend who gave me the quote is actually the first guy I found myself attracted to since my husband’s death (both frightening and confusing for me), and so I shared my feelings with him right away (he was already aware of my situation). He has made it clear he keeps business separate from personal (and I fall on the wrong side of that divide), but the experience did teach me that yes, someday I will find someone else and the world won’t implode… which was a huge step forward for me. I want to honor my husband’s memory and our life together by living the life we created, and being the same happy person that life allowed me to become."
